He was largely an opportunist from day 1 to day last. There’s a lot of confusion and lack of good ‘press’ about magical realism. COMMENTS: Five out of five stars all the way for this gorgeous, pensive work of art. In any case, magic realism is indeed fantasy, simply one in which the rules are often invisible to the human characters involved. The setting is essentially our world, but incorporating fantastic elements (e.g. ghosts, ESP, curses) in a matter-of-fact (but usually unsystematic) way.

In "Catwings Return," one of the realistic elements could be the setting. Lewis and Lloyd Alexander and Susan Cooper, when I was still just a kid. Those of us who crave the truest tastes of foods from other cultures strive to suss out the places that make, say, the gooiest cheese bread from the Republic of Georgia, the most delicate Lowcountry she-crab soup, or the spiciest Korean monkfish stew.
